Teacher Training: Restorative Yoga (45h)
These three modules cover the fundamentals of restorative yoga and restorative alignment.
Each module can be taken individually and/or as a bundle.
The modules complement each other in order to offer a general understanding of the practice of restorative yoga and alignment as well as the different ways these can be applied to your yoga practice.
Module 1: The Fundamentals of Restorative yoga
The way stress manifests itself has changed, anxiety and tension no longer last just a few minutes, nowadays they persist for very long periods of time, sometimes even years. Exposing our body to this kind of prolonged stress cause all kind of injuries and illnesses.
In this module you will learn the basics of restorative yoga and how to apply it to your everyday life, combine it to your usual yoga practice or include it in your yoga classes.
We will learn the art and ability of creating scenarios for the teaching of restorative yoga and how to build up the basic postures step by step and get to know its benefits.
This module has a theoretical part but it is mainly practical. A manual is included.
-We will analyse the relation between the nervous system and restorative yoga and how this can relieve stress.
-We will get to know and use props.
-We will explore the basic principles of the practice of resting, restore, relax and renew the natural muscular and energetic ability of the body to get into a state of deep relaxation, a practice you will learn experiencing it on your own skin.
-We will learn a basic sequence of postures for stress relief which you will be able to include in your practice and in your classes.

Module 2: Restorative yoga for the back with Back Mitra and other techniques
This workshop will allow you to experiment with pressure and learn about relaxing the back and rest breathing. We will explore sequences to increase the freedom of movement in our spine as an interesting focus point in the yoga practice.
The BackMitra is an ingenuous and very useful tool, designed to free tension and increase the mobility, flexibility and health of our spine, helping releasing tension, stiffness and the tiredness that accumulates in theses areas of the body, allowing for a more hygienic posture that increases the body energy.
-We will learn how to connect with the awareness of the movements of the spine using BackMitra and other relaxation and dynamic techniques.
-We will go through the basic concepts behind this technique, the fundamentals of anatomy related to the BackMitra technique as a restorative and therapeutic tool.
-We will teach you where to position the BackMitra, how and why, and we will study the connections of movements related to this kind of workout.
-We will work with sequences of exercises with the BackMitra to learn to connect with relaxation, breathing, the movement of upper and lower limbs and core workout (internal tube) and how to relate this kind of exercises to a regular hatha vinyasa practice

25-26 th of May 19 from 9:30 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 18:00. 15 hours in total.
Module 3: Hatha Vinyasa yoga and the fundamentals of restorative alignment and asanas
Refining the awareness while practicing asanas through small, subtle movements that flow through the body giving life to bigger movements that allow for a deep understanding of the body. Critical alignment can help minimizing the negative consequences of a bad posture and wrong movement patterns and restore the total experience of moving.
-We will learn the basic principles of critical alignment to relax, strengthen and coordinate that gives us the opportunity to break movement patterns and allows for a freer and more efficient way of moving.
-We will discuss the importance of relaxing before moving, through coordination and preparatory exercises related to the different movement connections that we will analyse using specific props.
-We will get into sequencing, how to incorporate this knowledge to different groups of postures for a rich and healthy practice

15-16 June 2019 from 9:30 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 18:00. 15 hours in total.
Who's this workshop for
The three modules are designed for yoga practitioners, TTC students and yoga teachers who want to learn and develop new abilities for the many different kind of bodies and the diseases of today’s society.
Module 2 is also directed to practitioners and teachers of other kind of body techniques, therapists or health professionals, and to all people who would like to improve their posture, who have stress problems or a tired or collapsed back, as BackMitra is a brilliant tool to freed the spine from stress and tension, easy to use and very efficient.
Prices and Subscription
Each module: 165€ if you pay at least 10 days in advance. 180€ afterwards.
Three modules bundle: 445€ if you pay at least 10 days in advance. 480€ afterwards.
The price includes the workshop and the manuals.

You will receive a certificate of participation from Yoga & Yoga BCN and Zonaioga. This module’s hours add up to the 300h advanced teacher training (Yoga Alliance) and are valid towards the accreditation of the Generalitat.
