Hatha Vinyasa Yoga
Yoga combines the physical asana practice, breathing and relaxation. Altogether they benefit all body systems, promoting a holistic health. Yoga stretches, strengthens and tones the muscles as well as nurtures and improves the physical state of the body. However, yoga is much more than all these physical benefits. The fundamentals of the yoga practice are breath, movement and concentration. Thus, yoga balances our physical energy as well as helps develop a state of mental calm and emotional stability. The combination of asanas or postures, breathing, the energetic work and concentration leads us to a meditative state enabling us to connect with our essence, our inner peace and our authentic being.
Hatha Vinyasa Yoga combines conscious breathing, movement and stillness, physical and energetic alignment and a focused mind. Conscious breathing provides presence, energy and health. Movement and heat bring us mobility, strength, flexibility and purification. Stillness provides awareness, mental calm and it’s beneficial for the most profound body systems (nervous system, circulatory system, endocrine system, etc.). The principles of physical alignment provide integrity to the postures, health and energetic movement to the body. A focused mind allows us to bring our awareness inwards, to expand our consciousness and get closer to a more peaceful state of mind.
Hatha Vinyasa classes are intense as well as respectful towards the needs and capacities of every student. These classes are ideal for people who would like a more active type of yoga. Flowing through Vinyasas (connected movements through breath) in the more active part of the practice, holding asanas for a longer time in the more passive part of the class, conscious breathing, basic pranayamas, meditation and relaxation is what you will find in our classes.
Each teacher designs the sequences based on their own practice, experience and training which translates into classes with different rhythms and personalities. That’s why we recommend trying different classes with different teachers to see what works best for you. Take a look at the regular classes schedule and the upcoming workshops. At school we also offer a hatha vinyasa teacher training and course (básic 200h and advanced +300h Yoga Alliance).
